It peaked in popularity around the year 2002.
Like many sites of the era, there were periods of downtime due to exceeding the bandwidth limit, changing web hosts, etc.
As of 2020, I decided to restore ZaksRealm.com to its former glory.
I started by uploading the never-before-seen v6.0 design.
2021/2022: I secretly restored more previous versions.
v5.0 | v4.2
I'd like to keep this site online as long as I am able to as a memorial to the era.
I'd also like for people to be able to see what the internet was like before smartphones, mainstream social media, cookie-cutter websites based on Javascript frameworks, etc.
It was a great time for creativity and I feel blessed to have been a part of it!
Rumor has it, there's something special in the works...
I was a young tween in middle school/junior high when I started this project.
The last major updates were in 2005.
The unreleased revision, version 6.0, was never fully completed and never saw an official launch.
The last time it was actively worked on was March 2006.
During 2020, while I was trying to be a good citizen and stay inside, I "fell back in love" with my desktop computer!
I exchanged some unsavory habits for pure 1990s/2000s nostalgia, and put the v6.0 layout online for all to finally see! (What's a 14 year wait between friends?!)
As best as I can tell from my records/memories, my site existed OFFLINE for nearly a year before I ever put it online! That whole first year was me learning and experimenting with HTML. By the time I decided to publish it online, it was 3 whole pages! ;-x
